Spirit Act has a reputation of presenting creative arts in worship, proclaiming the word through the dramatic arts as well as full length plays and musicals throughout the year. These drama troupe presentations, sometimes humorous, sometimes dramatic, and sometimes poetic, are presented always with an understanding of the focus of Christ as the center of every presentation, even if the presentation is a fun-loving mystery dinner theatre.
Those who participate in Spirit Act presentations are part of FUMC congregation, other United Methodist Churches, other denominations as well as from the community. Participants in Spirit Act are all ages. Children and youth are a big part of Spirit Act taking part in the plays and musicals, choir cantatas, and presenting the Easter Sunrise Service.
You don’t have to be a professional actor to be a part of Spirit Act. You just have to enjoy acting, love to spread the word of God through the creative arts, and, yes, be just a little bit of a ham. Being a part of Spirit Act is not always on stage. Many backstage helpers, stage crew, lighting, sound, costumers, and even videographers play a major role in Spirit Act.
