Junior Choir: Grades 1 - 5
Children’s Choirs provide fun and age appropriate activities that focus on worship arts. Instruments, singing, and movement are used to encourage rhythm development, listening skills, and self expression. Most important is for children to experience their part in leading worship at Edmond First United Methodist Church. Getting Ready to Meet the Saints - 4PM
How do you want to be remembered? What will be your legacy?
How can you best deal with aging issues—grief—slowing down/loss of energy--anticipation of your own death?
In the next semester of our Wednesday “The Gathering” you will have the chance to explore these and related issues in a “non anxious” environment that includes resource persons experienced in helping you with these questions.
In eight Wednesday afternoon sessions—January 8 through February 26—these three and other resource people will be available to help you write your own obituary, funeral or memorial service and learn how to do those things that will help your family during that time. This information would also be helpful to “care givers.” Seminars will convene at 4 p.m. to help participants who do not want to drive after dark.
The three discussion leaders are:
Rev. Carl Petering, an ordained Evangelical Lutheran Minister who has taught chaplaincy courses at a number of academic and medical institutions.
Nancy Davis, Retired Critical Care Nurse
Rev. Dr. Joe Davis, an ordained United Methodist Pastor (retired) and a former Hospice Chaplain.
*Additional experienced professionals in related fields will be speaking and answering questions.

Catching Whimsy
Rev. Dr. Tiffany Nagel Monroe is leading a class this spring that will walk through and explore the sacred rhythms of our lives through the stories and devotions offered by author Bob Goff.
“Catching Whimsy will help you leave behind endless cycles of planning and floundering and instead wake up to the curiosity, delight, and possibility in this marvelous adventure called life.
Inspired by a reading from the Bible that will help root you in God's Word for the day
Captivated and encouraged as Bob tells you stories that connect to your faith and how you can live today with purpose
Gently nudged toward a life of satisfaction and possibility by insightful questions and prompts
You don't have to stay stuck in ambivalence and paralysis, unsure of the right next step. Instead, get settled in God's love for you and start journeying, wide-eyed and expectant, into a more meaningful life, a more engaged faith, and a more intentional future. Catching Whimsy will whisper some much-needed truth, hope, and whimsy into your days. You are only one or two decisions away from a more beautiful and winsome life; you just need to decide to access it through a door God leaves ajar for you each day.”

God, Theology and All That Jazz
In this Grow Group, Rev. David Clewel asks the question “are there connections between Jazz and Theology?” and explores the relationship between both.
Each session will begin with consideration of a different characteristic of jazz through listening, video, and discussion.
In the second part of each session we’ll dig deep in reading and discussion of different theological concepts related to that night’s aspect of jazz. Six sessions with a possible special bonus session.

Fiber Art Class
Love working with yarn or curious to try your hand at fabric arts? Starting this January, we’re launching a Yarn & Fabric Arts Group for creators of all skill levels! Whether you’re an experienced knitter, crocheter, or someone who’s never picked up a hook or needle, this is the perfect space to gather, learn, and create together. If you're a beginner, class leader Bethany Bone will be offering hands-on lessons in crochet, helping you master the basics and get started on your own beautiful creations.
While our focus is on yarn crafts, we also welcome other fabric art enthusiasts to join in. This group is all about building community, sharing ideas, and enjoying the creative process—no perfection required!
Bring your current project, or just bring your enthusiasm. We’d love to see you there!

Parenting Young Children
Stacy Christopher and Megan Borum invite you to join us for a class designed for parents of young children (birth to age seven), where we’ll explore practical strategies for nurturing your child’s emotional and developmental growth. Drawing from the Five Love Languages and The Whole-Brain Child, this class will provide valuable tools to strengthen your connection with your child, foster positive behavior, and support their social and emotional well-being. Each session will focus on different aspects of parenting, from understanding your child’s unique love language to using brain-based strategies that promote healthy development. In addition to expert insights and hands-on techniques, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect with other parents, share experiences, and build new friendships. You'll leave with a deeper understanding of how to raise confident, resilient, and happy children—all while building a loving, connected family dynamic and a supportive community of parents.
